Lee Fitzgibbons, PhD, Clinical Director, specializes in
cognitive and behavioral treatments of anxiety disorders in adults, adolescents,
and children. Her workbook for parents entitled Helping Your Child with OCD
was published by
New Harbinger Publications. She earned her PhD in clinical psychology from the University of Delaware. She
worked for five years at the Center for Treatment and Study of Anxiety (CTSA)
in Philadelphia where she learned and helped research treatments for obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD),
posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and generalized
social phobia (GSP). She subsequently became director of the Children's Program
at the Anxiety and Agoraphobia Treatment Center in Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania,
where she specialized in treating children and adolescents with OCD. She is a
professional member of the Anxiety Disorders Association of America (ADAA) and
the Obsessive-Compulsive Foundation (OCF) where she has presented workshops for
both lay and clinical audiences. She has also instructed at the Behavior
Therapy Institute (BTI) and continues to provide clinical consultaton for some BTI
graduates.
Her husband, Gordon Street, PhD, also specializes in
cognitive-behavioral treatments for anxiety disorders as well as in family
therapy. He earned his PhD in clinical psychology (with an emphasis in
child and family psychology) from the California School of Professional
Psychology in San Diego (CSPP-SD). He joined the
Center for Treatment and Study
of Anxiety (CTSA) in Philadelphia as a research instructor where he coordinated
data collection and analysis on several multi-site studies of anxiety treatments
and also learned and practiced cognitive-behavioral therapies for posttraumatic
stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and generalized
social phobia (GSP). He subsequently served as Outpatient Services Director at the
Children's Crisis Treatment Center in
Philadelphia before going into private practice.
